I received my Bachelor of Science in Technology in May of 1999, in the field of Computer Graphics, from Purdue University. Computer Graphics is an area of study that teaches communication of information through the use of graphics, primarily digital in nature. There are many diverse areas within this field, including technical illustration, drafting, publishing, multimedia development, 3D and vector-based animation as well as interactive website development. While I have valuable experience within each of these areas of the CG program, I have chosen to concentrate more on the animation, illustration, multimedia and website development aspects.

After graduating from high school with numerous art and drafting awards and scholarships, I decided the CG programs curriculum was best suited to my skills and interests. I felt my drawing abilities, both technical and artistic, could serve me well in this field. While most of the CG classes were designed to further ones technical skills, I also tried to further my artistic abilities as well by taking various drawing and traditional media rendering classes.

When I graduated from college, I went to work as the lead graphic artist for The BioScope Initiative project at Purdue University. The purpose of BioScope was to create quality multimedia material for high school biology classes. As lead graphic artist I was responsible for content creation and editing as well as art direction for the project, plus various other non-BioScope projects. I also directly supervised the team of graphic designers that worked on BioScope.

From there, I moved on to be a part of Information Technology at Purdue's Informatics team. While there I was a web designer and developer, responsible for designing and creating web pages as well as digital artwork and animation development.

In October of 2008, I brought my skills to the College Network's product development team as a graphic illustrator. While at TCN, I personally developed many illustrations and served as art director for contractors working on others. I've continued creating website and educational portal designs, and I've helped develop interactive lessons and educational tools. I have also worked on audio and video production and editing, sometimes utilizing a green screen.

Responsibilities include creation of graphic assets such as illustrations and logos, website design and development, digital animations, and interactive media. Also audio and video editing and development with some green screen utilization.

Responsibilities included design and development of websites utilizing HTML and CSS, creation and editing of digital artwork for various projects, and production of promotional animations to advertise new or important information.

The BioScope Initiative
Lead Graphics Designer - January 1999 to August 2002

Responsibilities included the development and implementation of graphic elements, such as illustrations and animations, for a multi-media based high school biology educational tool. Other responsibilities included the creation of website designs for projects external to BioScope and managing the graphics development team.
